“There are many ways up the mountain, but everyone must choose a path that feels true to their own heart.”
hello!
A Little about me
My speciality is herbs, Western and Chinese. However, one of my favorite teachers has said that “how does an herb know it is Chinese”? So if it’s a plant, I probably know it. I have been dabbling in herbal remedies for over 25 years and have studied under many teachers.
I made a career change out of computer technology ten years ago to become a licensed acupuncturist. I completed my training at Five Branches University in 2014 and obtained my license in 2015. Upon obtaining my license, I opened a practice in Santa Cruz County.
I jumped into learning acupuncture because for me, it was a transformative experience. At forty years of age, I felt old. I had aches and pains, poor digestion, complete lack of energy. Western medicine had nothing to offer. My blood results were normal, I had nothing they could determine that was causing the pain and fatigue. They suggested I should lose weight and exercise. Ha!
By chance I had been to a gardening event where an acupuncturist and herbalist presented a talk on growing and processing medicinal herbs. I took a chance and started to see him. And over a short course of time, I really started to feel better. My energy and enthusiasm was back and for the first time I felt I could really wrap my head around exercise and losing weight.
Currently I am studying to complete my Advanced Clinical Nutritional Program in the Fall of 2019. If you are looking for someone to coach and encourage your best health with a holistic approach, I hope you would consider me.
I love helping people choose herbs to improve their health, but I also can help determine an optimal diet and any nutritional supplements that would help you achieve a happy and healthy you.
